Total physical response table

TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE TPR stands for Total Physical Response and was created by Dr. James J Asher. It is based upon the way that children learn their mother tongue. Approach Desing Procedure Total physical response is an example of the comprehension approach to language teaching. Methods in the comprehension approach emphasize the importance of listening to language development, and do not require spoken output in the early stages of learning. -Objectives The general objectives of Total Physical Response are to teach oral proficiency at a beginning level. Comprehension is a means to an end, and the ultimate aim is to teach basic speaking skills. The majority of class time in TPR lessons is spent doing drills in which the instructor gives commands using the imperative mood. Students respond to these commands with physical actions. Initially, stu...

Audiolingual Method Eassay

Imagen
Audio lingual Method Introduction The   audio-lingual method ,   Army Method   is a style of teaching used in teaching   foreign languages . It is based on   behaviorist   theory  which postulates that certain traits of living things, and in this case   humans , could be trained through a system of reinforcement. The correct use of a trait would receive positive feedback while incorrect use of that trait would receive negative feedback This approach to language learning was similar to another, earlier method called the direct method.[citation needed] Like the direct method, the audio-lingual method advised that students should be taught a language directly, without using the students' native language to explain new words or grammar in the target language. However, unlike the direct method, the audio-lingual method did not focus on teaching vocabulary. Rather, the teacher drilled students in the use of grammar .Applied to language instruc...

Reflection about the video

First we started looking for information to make the video and we doesn't have idea how to do it we look for programs on the internet to create videos but they were difficult so my friend tried to do it in power point to later convert it to video we thought that we could not make the video was difficult because neither of them had created a video before when we already knew how to do it, we just wrote the information and edited it at the end it ended at night and uploaded it to you tube.

Technology as a method of english teaching

Imagen
Teaching with technology can deepen student learning by supporting instructional objectives. However, it can be challenging to select the “best” tech tools while not losing sight of your goals for student learning.  Once identified, integrating those tools can itself be a challenge albeit an eye-opening experience. Technology is very much part of language learning throughout the world at all different levels. We are as likely to find it in the primary sector as much as in adult education. I no longer need to make the case for computers to be provided in education, because computers are there in abundance in all their modern forms. We may see traditional computers in labs, teachers and students walking around with laptops or tablet PCs, and many people will have a mobile phone in their pocket that is capable of doing rather more than the mainframe computers that started computer-assisted language learning in the 1960s. I do recognise that there are many kinds of d...

A BRIEF HISTORY OF LANGUAGE TEACHING

Imagen
Introduction The history of language teaching methods, provide aa background for discussion  of contemporary methods and suggests the issues we will refer to in analyzing these methods. The English language teaching tradition has been subject to tremendous change, especially throughout the twentieth century. Perhaps more than any other discipline, this tradition has been practiced, in various adaptations, in language classrooms all around the world for centuries. While the teaching of Maths or Physics, that is, the methodology of teaching Maths or Physics, has, to a greater or lesser extent, remained the same, this is hardly the case with English or language teaching in general. As will become evident in this short paper, there are some milestones in the development of this tradition, which we will briefly touch upon, in an attempt to reveal the importance of research in the selection and implementation of the optimal methods and techniques for language teaching and learn...
